Safety, Health, &
Environment (SHE)

Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) are crucial aspects of operational activities at TMT Group. In implementing SHE, the Group always acts in compliance with prevailing laws and regulations, with reference to SHE international best practices.

All business units within the Group are required to systematically and continuously identify dangers and manage risks related to SHE, to manage all environmental aspects and impact in the work area effectively, and to socialize SHE to improve awareness and concern in all employees in the Group. SHE issues and activities are promoted, implemented, and overseen by a designated SHE Committee at the Group level.

As part of the Group’s commitment to SHE, a series of routine programs are carried out by the entire Group such as National Health and Safety Month and fire drills. Moreover, subsidiaries are encouraged to implement and carry out SHE practices as relevant to each company’s line of business, with the objective of preventing costly accidents, safeguarding employees’ health and wellbeing, and preventing environmental pollution. For example, at Trakindo, employees receive mandatory training on work safety practices and emergency situation procedures as part of creating and maintaining an accident and injury free workplace.

TMT is also committed to prevent environmental pollution from waste, emissions, or operational activity waste materials. Whereas at ABM Investama subsidiaries engaged in mining and logistics observe strict SHE procedures including protection of natural vegetation and wildlife, restoration of mining sites, and earth, air, and water pollution control. ABM Investama even identifies the ABM Group’s top 10 corporate risks on an annual basis, including SHE risks. In addition, TMT through Radana Finance attempts to involve the community, as an example by socializing Safety Driving to the public.

The successful implementation of SHE practices within the TMT Group is reflected by the achievement of international ISO 9001:2008, OHSAS 18001:2007, and ISO 14001:2004 certification by several subsidiaries within the Group, as well as various other relevant certifications such as ISM Code and ISPS Code. In addition, the Group’s business units have won various SHE awards from clients, local governments, the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration, and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
